This power supply combines the functions of Model 201 L (low voltage power supply 0 to 10 volts DC used in the vast majority of Physics experiments) and Model 112 E (high current power supply 2 to 25 A used in the visualization of magnetic field lines using iron fillings).
AUTOMATIC ADJUSTMENT
Model 203 LE is equipped with an AVOC (Automatic Verification of Output Circuit) that guarantees the automatic and continuous adjustment of the power supply depending on the type of circuit connected to its output.
For example, when a magnetism experimentation device (SE-26) is connected to the power supply, it will automatically adjust itself to provide up to 25 amps. Once the experimentation device is disconnected from the power supply, the AVOC will readjust itself to generate a voltage of anywhere between 0 and 10 volts DC for a 2 A maximum current intensity.
For greater security during operation, the AVOC will automatically switch to protection mode if the output circuit demands more than 2.0 A. This foldback-type protection ensures lower consumption for the power supply when it is overloaded.
BACKLIT INDICATOR
Model 203 LE is equipped with a backlit display that indicates the state (mode) of the power supply at all times. This indicator displays:
VOLTS: standard mode
AMPERES: magnetism mode
!: output overload
DIGITAL DISPLAY
The AVOC ensures that the correct information is always displayed on its digital readout. The display measures volts when used normally and amps when used with a magnetism experimentation device (SE-26).
